| UPTIMELV INSTALLS NEW IT SYSTEM FOR THREE SQUARE DISTRIBUTION CENTER |

Behind every good non-profit there is good infrastructure, without which organizational growth becomes next to impossible. Local food bank Three Square discovered this as it exploded onto the scene in 2007, breaking national records for food distribution with its successful model. As it looked to expand food distribution operations into a second building, the problem of infrastructure quickly arose, especially in the area of information technology. David Rounds, a Three Square founding operational Board of Directors member and president of local information technology services provider uptimeLV, knew exactly how he could help. Since March 2007, he had been involved with Three Square, and began planning ways to increase the capabilities of the IT infrastructure. He knew what they would need: an additional server to fill the need of growing business requirements and the design of a new server room. As time went on, other needs were included in the project's design. Internal wireless network across the entire new building with plans to extend to the old building, separate guest wireless access, distributed audio/video system, new desktops and laptops, extended LA N to both buildings for one internal network and ongoing maintenance, support, and 24/7 helpdesk. "I personally was involved in the beginning, including being a part of the design and development committee, which helped design the buildout," says Rounds. "In addition, uptimeLV handled the complete design of the IT infrastructure, and assisted with the telecommunications, surveillance and audio/video systems, as well as the installation of the IT infrastructure. Finally, we project managed a significant amount of the installation of all of those systems and the move of all the equipment to the new building." uptimeLV recently completed work on the design, specification, configuration and implementation of IT infrastructure for Three Square's new building, and it is already helping Three Square's mission of serving the hungry. With the new infrastructure in place, the organization is set to break its own record with 15 million pounds of food expected to be distributed. The new infrastructure seamlessly links all IT services to the previous space and features a state-of-the-art server room, audio/visual room, and secure wireless connectivity throughout the entire building. Wireless coverage is achieved via 11 access points working together to provide seamless coverage throughout the building, and connectivity in the previous building is provided via redundant fiber-optic connections that ensure speed and reliability. A national project, Three Square is a community collaborative partnership with the gaming industry, businesses, non-profit agencies, food distributors, UNLV, Clark County School District, governmental entities, local media and hundreds of volunteers to efficiently and effectively serve hope to the hungry.
